Classic marketing on a shoestring! With a very small marketing budget, global awareness had to be created for The Sweaterheads—The World’s First Knitted Books. A series of children’s books, aimed at 4-8 year olds, The Sweaterheads have been described as ‘having cult potential’ by the BBC. A marketing strategy was created focusing on production of a website, generating sales through the website, capitalizing on PR and publicity, promoting the brand in competitive global markets, and achieving sales forecasts. In addition to the first two books launched in December 2004, an audio CD was launched in May 2006. |
